The last few weeks training has increased, legs have started falling off and right now I’m so tired that I could probably get home, collapse on my bed and sleep the weekend away. I need an early night.
With 4 weeks to go to IM UK 70.3, training is in full swing – only 2 more weeks until a short taper, the race, a short recovery and then another 6 weeks to IM UK on August 2nd! Essentially, there is no rest for the wicked, where the wicked is an insane woman attempting to do 4 races in 21 weeks.
After London I didn’t really have time to mourn the fact that the race was over – I had to get back into training and getting to Wimbleball the following weekend was a blessing. The familiarization camp really did me good. It made me realise that I was really not prepared enough and helped me to find some hills to hit myself with on my training rides this week. This weekend will see me doing a 4 hour bike ride on every imaginable hill in the area!
The new club is also just getting into gear – there is a group ride this weekend and in 2 weeks we start our open water swimming sessions at Holme Pierrepont. That should be fun! The sessions on Thursdays are a hoot and the people are great. Now we just need more members and it will become my new social ground!
My head needs a bit of rest though.
